Powerhouse Performance & Recovery

Project Overview

The Challenge: Existing units couldn't get pools below 13°C - too warm for effective cold therapy.

The Solution:

  • Chiller: Adonis Split System
  • Setup: 3 pools (8,000+ litres total)
  • Target temp: 7.5°C (originally set to 5°C - too cold!)
  • Installation type: Retrofit

The Result: Set-and-forget operation - hasn't needed adjustment since installation.

Earl's Story

When Earl from Powerhouse opened his recovery facility, he thought he'd sorted the cold plunge situation. He hadn't. The units he'd installed - "heat units" as he calls them - couldn't push below 13°C no matter what he tried.

That's when he reached out to Bergs. The response was immediate, and more importantly, familiar: "We've seen this before, and we're here to help." After looking at the data and understanding the setup, the solution was clear - an Adonis Split System that could handle three pools and over 8,000 litres.

The installation was smooth. The chiller fired up and hasn't been touched since. Earl had to raise the temperature from 5°C to 7.5°C because it was getting too cold. These days, it just hums away in the background, doing exactly what it's supposed to do.

Roar Active

Project Overview

The Challenge: Four previous chillers failed to maintain temps - couldn't support a full recovery facility.

The Solution:

  • Chiller: Adonis Split System
  • Setup: 3 ice baths + ice showers + 2,500L balance tank (5,500 litres total)
  • Target temp: 3-5°C constant
  • Installation type: New build

The Result: Hitting target temps across all zones - hasn't wavered since day one.

Gav's Story

By the time Gav reached out to Bergs, he'd already been through four different chiller companies. None of them could deliver what Roar Active needed for their new Oasis facility in Bibra Lake - a proper recovery setup with three ice baths, ice showers, and a 2,500-litre underground balance tank. The brief was simple but demanding: 5,000 litres of water held constantly between 3-5°C.

When Gav spoke with us. we worked together to design a system that would actually achieve the goal. Bergs had the data, the planning evidence from previous jobs, and the confidence to guarantee they'd hit those temps.

Three months from first contact to installation. The system fired up and immediately hit the mark. Everything from the ice baths to the showers runs off the same chiller, and it hasn't missed a beat. The temps stay exactly where they need to be - between 3-5°C, all day, every day.

World Gym

Project Overview

The Challenge: A brand new recovery area with an ice bath that's always cold, without the chiller headaches he'd had in past installs.

The Solution:

  • Chiller: Adonis Split System
  • Setup: 1 large cold plunge pool (5,000 litres)
  • Target temp: 10°C
  • Installation type: New gym build

The Result: Reliable system that works - members happy, no breakdowns.

Luke's Story

Luke owns 5 World Gyms and was adding recovery facilities to his Tuggerah location. The problem was, every conversation he had with suppliers felt the same - lots of promises, but no one confident enough to guarantee their gear would actually work. The equipment they'd tried wasn't up to standard, and members were getting frustrated.

After seeing Bergs on Instagram and having a conversation with the team, something clicked. We weren't just selling him a chiller - we walked him through exactly how the split system would work, why the parts were readily available, and guaranteed it would do the job. His business partner knew enough about cooling systems to know it made sense.

Delivery was quick. Installation was straightforward - even the installers commented on how easy it was to set up. Since then it just works. No breakdowns, no service calls, no unhappy members. Just a reliable system doing exactly what it's supposed to do.

Since the Tuggerah install, Luke's added another Bergs Split System to his World Gym location in Prospect, Sydney.

Sol Saunas

Project Overview

The Challenge: Wanted to avoid the chiller breakdowns they'd seen at other recovery facilities.

The Solution:

  • Chiller: Classic Split System
  • Setup: 5 individual stainless steel ice baths (2,000 litres total)
  • Target temp: 9°C (originally 7°C - too cold!)
  • Installation type: New build

The Result: Dialed in to the perfect temp - no breakdowns, no issues.

Ben & Jamie's Story

Ben and Jamie didn't wait until their Prahran facility was half-built to think about chillers. They called us early in the project because they'd been to enough recovery rooms to see the pattern - chillers breaking down, frustrated owners, unhappy clients. They wanted to get it right from the start.

We spec'd a Classic Split System to handle five individual stainless steel ice baths - 2,000 litres of water that needed to stay consistently cold. The system went in smooth, fired up, and immediately hit the mark.

Actually, it hit it too well. They originally set it to 7°C, but started getting complaints that it was too cold. A quick adjustment to 9°C and everyone's happy. Since then? It's been hands-off. No breakdowns, no service calls, just five ice baths running at exactly the right temperature, every single day.

Sol State

Project Overview

The Challenge: Wanted to avoid murky water and inconsistent temps she'd seen at other recovery centers.

The Solution:

  • Chiller: Classic Split System
  • Setup: 2 Berg's stainless steel ice baths (2,000 litres total)
  • Target temp: 10°C
  • Installation type: New build
  • Partner: Zenith Aquatics (filtration)

The Result: Crisp, clear, cold water since day one - no issues.

Julie's Story

Julie had run Anytime Fitness franchises for years before making the leap into wellness with Sol State in Tweed Heads. She knew what she wanted - and more importantly, what she didn't want. She'd been to enough recovery centers to see the problems: murky water, staff who didn't understand ice bath protocols, and chillers that couldn't hold the right temperature.

For her facility, quality was non-negotiable. She wanted clients walking into an environment that felt clean, professional, and reliable from day one.

We paired two Berg's stainless steel ice baths with a Classic Split System chiller, set to 10°C. Working alongside Zenith Aquatics for the filtration side, the system came together seamlessly. Since install, the water's been exactly what Julie wanted - crisp, clear, and cold. No temperature swings, no water quality issues, no compromises.
