Three Red Flags of a "Commercial" Chiller

Three Red Flags of a "Commercial" Chiller

There are three major red flags to look for when you're buying a commercial-grade chiller.

1. It has wheels.

Real commercial units don't need to go anywhere.

They aren't shopping trolleys.

They are put in place and left there to do their work.

If it has wheels, it's designed for portability, not permanent, heavy-duty use.

2. It has a small filter hanging off the side.

If you've looked at chillers for a while, you'll know the little filter I'm talking about.

That is a massive red flag.

In a commercial setting in most states of Australia, you would be breaking health regulations if you relied on just that filter.

It's nowhere near adequate for a public facility.

3. It's marketed as "commercial".

Ironically, if the word "commercial" is in the title, it's probably not a true commercial unit.

There are only a couple of companies in Australia that supply commercial chillers, and none of them feel the need to put that word in the product name.

The equipment's performance should speak for itself.

A lot of recovery rooms get caught out by these things.

If you're in the market for a new chiller, or you've been caught with a unit that isn't up to the job, we can send you a full breakdown of what to look for in a true commercial system.
